We believe that our personal selection of Rainforest baskets by the Wounaan tribal people of Panama is outstanding. In an attempt to assist this tribe to advance from what was a marginal existence, we felt that by exposing their work to a larger audience, they would be able to maintain their traditional lifestyle while increasing their profile with the Panamanian government, which has, to this point, barely acknowledged their existence. We have been showcasing their work since 1993. |
